In an on-going series, Inspirations for Youth and Families will be sharing Teen Rehab blog posts about various topics of teen addiction and recovery.
Today we have a blog post from Brennon C, who is currently a client at Inspirations for Youth
Here is the blog transcript:
You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink
I was brought to rehab like a horse to water, but no one can make me change unless I want to just like nobody can make the horse drink the water. From here on it’s my choice if I want to change and how much I want to change. My effort I put forth will dictate my change and how much I change. My determination affects my efforts for change. My willpower will be put to the test to achieve the change that people know I need, but I fought those people and resisted any changes.
I was brought to rehab like a horse to water, but no one can make me change unless I want to just like nobody can make the horse drink the water.
Finally, after all the fighting and nagging and the talks and lectures, I’ve opened my eyes and see the change I require. It’s my turn to do my part to acquire the change I need. Change won’t come easy, but can and will be achieved with Blood, Sweat, Tears. In the end, it will all be worth all the Blood, Sweat, and Tears that were shed.
