This blog was written by Hunter D, a teen in rehab at Inspirations for Youth and Families who has received drug addiction treatment. Hunter wrote a brief blog explaining why he and other teens gravitate towards drugs.

Teens may also start using to fit in, thinking it makes them popular or cool. I tried marijuana because one of my friends did it. I also wanted to fit in because I transferred schools and wanted to be cool. If I could go back and change anything I would change all the effort I put into getting drugs into school. I wish I had tried harder but when I get back I plan to do my best.
I think kids gravitate to drugs to get away from their feelings and also because other kids or family members do drugs.
