This year’s focus was on nutrition. We launched the “Fresh Is Best” program, where the clients learned about a variety of fruits and vegetables that were juiced and blended. The response was a “tasteful experience,” as some had never experienced the sweetness of a fresh apple or orange in its purest form.
As far as our highly acclaimed reading program – once again it engaged students in all aspects from reading comprehension, character analysis, grammar and creative expression.
We had a special new track in the Summer Program with the addition of our drama teacher – Donovan Ortega. The way he was able to not only achieve the much needed -buy-in – from the teens on acting out scenes from “Macbeth” and “The Outsiders” – but he created an environment where the kids not only looked forward to each class, they were also so proud of the final video production output. You can see these video teen rehab masterpieces on our YouTube channel and please be sure to subscribe.
Please check out the funny and talented video scenes from: “Macbeth” and “The Outsiders” performed by our teen students.
Two teens graduate high school
We are proud to announce that two of our students worked diligently, in our teacher assisted computer lab, and completed all the required work to receive their High School Diploma from their school of origin! We celebrated these achievements as they deserved to be recognized for their hard work and intelligence.
The education team has already began the 2015/2016 school year which started on Monday August 24th. Inspirations academy – as we stated earlier – introduced a new, Master level English teacher this summer, Mr. Donovan Ortega, whose creative approach to teaching, utilizing video and creative expression gave a deeper understanding and comprehension of the classic novels studied. Our educational team looks forward to continuing to stimulate a love of learning by focusing on each individual needs and turning breakdowns into breakthroughs and weaknesses into strengths.
