Every year Inspirations participates in supporting Stomp Out Bullying to raise awareness among teens about the true effects of bullying.

Our girls after the stomp out bullying talent show.

Finally,October is here and it’s that time again at Inspirations! Therefore our anti-bullying crusade begins with educating our teens on what exactly is a bully. And how the act of bullying effects others. However, that is not all there is to stomp bullying. In addition to learning how to identify a bully, our teens  learn the most effective way to report a bully. Also, they learn whom to reach out to when experiencing bullying. These are vital skills teens take home and can use during their transition into their sobriety and home life.

What is Stomp Out Bullying?

Stomp Out Bullying is the leading national anti-bullying and cyberbullying organization for kids and teens in the U.S. Stomp Out Bullying focuses on reducing and preventing bullying, cyberbullying, sexting and other digital abuse. And it also involves educating against homophobia, racism, and hatred, decreasing school absenteeism and finally deterring violence in schools, online and in communities across the country. It teaches effective solutions on how to respond to all forms of bullying. As well as educating kids and teens in school and online. The organization provides help for those in need and at risk. Other issues include suicide, raising awareness, peer mentoring programs in schools, and public service announcements by noted celebrities. An additional focus educates parents on how to keep their children safe and responsible online.

Anti-bullying talent show

All week our educational staff works closely together with our teens to create a theme and choose to focus on the effects bullying poses on people. Along with our bi-monthly talent show, our teens worked together to create meaningful acts. Each set depicts the feelings people who struggle with bullying go through. They also highlight why it’s important to keep going strong. Especially if others don’t have your best interest at heart.

Check out this meaningful poem from our teen poet Britni about her struggle with drug abuse and bullying:

Our Stomp Out Bullying support doesn’t just end with talent. Following the yearly Inspirations tradition, our teens endSo the day with a friendly game of kickball!
