gary inspirations teen rehab song
Last week we said goodbye Gary another one of our talented teens at Inspirations teen rehab. Many of you may have seen our client from our numerous talent shows and even his awesome presentation of Gary’s House of Fashion. Gary is known to be a very lively and supportive teen during his stay here, and will be dearly missed.

On his last day here he decided to sing his final song at Inspirations teen rehab, watch it here:

During this final song Gary was able to provide a lasting and inspirational message to fellow clients about holding on and taking recovery one day at a time. While here Gary was able to foster healthy relationships and make great memories through our sober fun activities.

Gary did a phenomenal job during his stay here at Inspirations for Youth and Families (IYF) and through our program’s music and drama therapy sessions. During these sessions Gary really flourished and was able to express himself in a variety of ways such as acting and singing.

Music Therapy

Inspirations for Youth and Families (IYF) uses music as a form therapy to help teens suffering with drug and alcohol addiction to express themselves in a productive and healthy manner. The skills acquired through music therapy are coping tools our clients can use when they need to express themselves.

Music therapy teaches our clients the rules of reading and interpreting music. Clients are also taught how to use the instrument of their choice. Inspirations provide a range of instruments such as guitars, drums, keyboards and more for clients to choose from. We offer lessons teaching our clients the skill of song writing – this is often how clients choose to express themselves.

Drama Therapy

At Inspirations for Youth and Families we strive to treat teens struggling with drug and alcohol addiction and provide a variety of therapeutic methods to do so. Although this method may seem unconventional it has shown great results in helping our teens to overcome their mental and behavioral issues.

Drama therapy also provides educational benefits to teens as they read and discover some of history’s greatest literature or theatrical pieces. A whole world of modern and traditional interpretation is opened up to our teens. Our drama sessions break up the routine of being in treatment by providing a fun and exciting way to look at recovery therapy.
