Drug and street term: Amped Out
To better inform everyone, we had a round table discussion with teens from Inspirations for Youth and Families about drug and street terms everyone may want to know. The definition below is based on collective information gathered from teens within our rehab and online research.
Amped Out (v.) (amp-d out) – to be fatigued especially after taking amphetamines.
Example: Jerry is amped out after that crazy trip at the rave.
Inspirations Amphetamine Drug Treatment
An amphetamine is a stimulant that controls the central nervous system and also suppresses appetite. It controls the nervous system by increasing chemicals in the body to help with attention and focusing. This drug also increases the heart rate and blood pressure which decreases one’s appetite.
This stimulant is used to treat patients suffering from narcolepsy and attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity (ADHD). There are many forms of amphetamines such as Adderall, Ritalin,Vyvanse, Methamphetamine, or Dextroamphetamine.
