It marks the third year Inspirations drug rehab exhibits at 15-year Boca Pal event
Inspirations for Youth and Families teen drug rehab (IYF) was a proud sponsor of the the Sun Capital Half Marathon as well as the Five Guys 5K Run on November 8th, 2015 at the Spanish River Park in Boca Raton. The event was set up by the Boca Raton Police Athletic League (BocaPal), a non-profit group established by the Boca Raton Police Department to assist youth who are at risk of academic failure, substance abuse or criminal activity by providing safe places for them to go during non-school hours with structured recreational activities. Boca Raton Police Officers act as role models to city youth and assist with sports, leadership, and educational programs.

“Inspirations and BocaPal have been partners for quite some time,” said Karen Corcoran-Walsh, co-founder and owner of Inspirations for Youth and Families teen rehab as well as the Cove Center for Recovery. “We have the utmost respect in how they help our youth and I see a lot of parallels in what we do too.”
IYF in the past has also been involved in the BocaPal golf tournament. IYF was the presenting sponsor at the 1st Annual Charlie McCutheon Memorial Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament like the races’ main purpose is to raise funds for “at risk” youth. IYF has also played an integral role funding the BocaPal boxing program.
Corcoran added that “Inspirations and BocaPal share a common goal: to inspire people to be the best they can be. The police officers of PAL and the counselors of Inspirations serve as role models to youth.
IYF enjoyed meeting the race entrants at their booth, where they gave away a sundry of items including: stress balls, notebooks, coasters, and as a raffle – a gift certificate for dinner at PF Changs restaurant.
“It was good to be at this event,” said Walsh. “There was a huge turnout at the race and at our exhibit booth as well. It was great to see families participate in such a wholesome event.”
