Miami, Florida – June 12, 2014 – Inspirations for Youth and Families (IYF), one of the nation’s most successful addiction treatment centers strictly for teens, has announced that approximately 50 of its teens in recovery will be attending the Miami Marlins baseball game on June 18, 2014 at Marlins Stadium against the Chicago Cubs at 12:40 P.M. All of the tickets were donated by the Miami Marlins as a sign of community partnership with Inspirations for Youth and Families, whose aim is to assist teens in their battle against drug and alcohol addiction.
“It’s quite obvious that the Miami Marlins mission is more than just to win baseball games,” said Karen Corcoran Walsh, owner of Inspirations for Youth and Families. “For instance, the team donated 50 tickets to Inspirations for Youth and Families for our teens who are battling with drug addiction. What better way to begin, continue, or maintain addiction recovery than to get out in the real world while in therapy and take in America’s favorite past-time – a baseball game.”
“Inspirations for Youth and Families has a far different approach than other teen treatment addiction centers,” said Dr. James Hughes, CEO of Inspirations for Youth and Families. “We believe in the real world approach where our teens leave our facility to embark on all sorts of events ranging from beach trips to deep sea fishing. We are overjoyed with the Miami Marlins outreach and this gesture will go a long way in our teen’s journey to recovery.”
